Meet Shannon...

I grew up in a little beach town on the South Shore of Massachusetts. My last name growing up was Fisher. My Dad used to call me and my siblings, "Little Fish." It was a term of love and connection. When I was thinking about what to call my doula practice, it just felt right to extend that love and connection into the world. Family has always been at the heart of what centers me.

Professionally, I have worked in reproductive health and abortion care for the past 23 years. I have supported many families through pregnancy and what I've learned is this: there are not people who birth and people who have abortions, miscarriages, ectopic pregnancies, infant loss, or make adoption plans. They are often the same people at different times in their lives.

There is a pregnancy spectrum, and I am here to support all people on their journey. I am here for you. You are not alone on this path. Being a support for people in times of transition is my professional calling. Helping people identify their strength is everything to me.

I am a Queer, Femme, mother, partner, daughter, sister, and friend. I am irreverent, silly, professional, and loving. I want equity and equality to be at the core of all the decisions that I make.  I trained as a doula through Birthing Advocacy Doula Training. Their commitment to equity, inclusion, and advocacy spoke to me. I have taught prenatal, post-natal, and childbirth education classes for seven years at Birth Roots. My job is to help guide folks through pregnancy and early parenting and I couldn't be happier to do it!

I parent two kiddos who are the love and light that we need in this world. I am the luckiest duck to be their Mumma. I have an amazing partner and we live in our little house in Brunswick, Maine.

I am so glad you came by to check out Little Fish.
